We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our R&D team as the inaugural member focused on data engineering. In this pivotal role, you will significantly influence our data strategy and drive innovation. You will lead the development of our data platform, extending and enhancing our data infrastructures to support research, development, and business intelligence across the organization

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models, schemas, and database structures to optimize analytics performance
  • Enhance data workflows to ensure efficient real-time and batch processing
  • Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to uphold data integrity
  • Identify and address bottlenecks to sustain a robust and reliable data ecosystem
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions
  • Lead projects independently, demonstrating initiative and expertise in guiding project teams toward successful outcomes
  • Stay abreast of the latest data engineering technologies and trends, integrating new tools and best practices to continuously improve our data infrastructure

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
  • Extensive experience in building data processing infrastructures and ETL pipelines using large-scale, distributed data platforms and technologies
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex data projects and expertise in data architecture
  • Extensive experience with cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and tools such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Golang, or other common programming languages and significant SQL experience
  • Independent learner with a "can do" attitude and a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
